The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) invites Filipino photographers (professionals are welcome) to submit a photo of a local Rizal Monument found in your town plaza, school campus, town hall, capitol grounds, hospital lawn, or public park.

Participants should provide a brief description of the Rizal Monument, the date it was erected, and its artist (if available).

Submission period: December 30, 2010 to May 19, 2011

Pilipinas Shell is in search of the Philippines’ smartest driver. Could you be the one they’re looking for?

If you are a legal-aged Filipino with a valid driver’s license, you can enter the Shell Smartest Driver promo and be one of the 10 finalists to receive P10,000.00 worth of fuel vouchers from Pilipinas Shell or one of the 2 finalists to be sent to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and compete in the 1L consumer challenge in the Asian Shell Eco-Marathon.

Participants must create a video demonstrating or discussing a tip that will allow motorists to increase their fuel efficiency. The video should be 30 seconds to 1 minute long and should be in .avi or.mpeg format.

Winners will be chosen following the criteria: creativity of video (40 points), practicality of tip (20 points), effectivity of tip (20 points), and public votes (20 points). Ten finalists will each receive P10,000.00 worth of fuel vouchers from Pilipinas Shell and must participate in an activity organized by Pilipinas Shell on June 26.

The activity will be comprised of two parts: a fuel economy seminar and a driving challenge wherein participants must attempt to get the most mileage out of 1 liter of fuel. The two most fuel efficient drivers will be declared winners and will be sent to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on July 8 to 11 to compete in the 1L consumer challenge in the Asian Shell Eco-Marathon.
